*-Questlove- "Hamish Stewart's bass solo is a monster.  But one of the best things about funk is limited musicianship.  You have to hold back and work as a team.  Here, it borders on busy.  After Jaco Pastorius's "Portrait of Tracy," this became the new mountain to climb for bass players in 1976 (six years after the last mountain Sly left us).  Jaco's take on limitations (certain notes on the fret give a distinguishable, hard-to-achieve sound) was melodic art.  Stewart's take on the same process felt more like African percussion."
